Tao Yue, M.A.

Tao Yue has collaborated with IBI on its China programs since 2005, giving trainings to multinationals including Siemens.

Born in Shanghai, Tao has lived in the Netherlands since 2000. She took her B.A. in English language and literature at Fudan University and M.A. in social sciences (cum laude) at the University of Amsterdam. Her M.A. thesis, "Metaphysical Risk Management in Post-Maoist China," describes and explains the revival of folk metaphysics and its influence on Chinese decision-making.

Currently working at the Rotterdam School of Management Case Development Center, Tao develops and writes business teaching cases and training materials. Previously, she was the China Specialist at Leiden University International Office, responsible for maintaining partnerships between Leiden University and Chinese sister institutions. Before moving to the Netherlands, she was a journalist at Bridge News and Agence France Presse in Shanghai.

Tao Yue publishes in Chinese and English. She is a freelance writer for Radio Netherlands International and a contributor to Overseas Chinese and the Leiden University International Institute for Asian Studies Newsletter. Her book Study in the Netherlands (Shanghai, 2004) stresses intercultural accommodation and is widely used by Chinese students and institutions.
