Graciela de Savornin Lohman-Prosperi
Graciela started her work as a translator-interpreter of English-Spanish for a number of international banks and companies. She worked for the editorial committee of the local World Wide Fund for Nature magazine, and as interpreter and translator for executives of Capsa-Capex and Alparamis.
Graciela moved to The Netherlands in 1996, where she set up her own consultancy bureau for Dutch companies and individuals who are interested in Argentina, offering acculturation courses, language and translation services, and advice for tailor-made tourism. Trilingual in Spanish, English and Dutch, she combines her experience at organisations such as the UN Climate Change Conferences in Buenos Aires and The Hague, the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a number of private companies to offer high-profile expatriate consultancy. She has been a guest speaker at the University of Leiden and regularly delivers courses on Argentina, its culture and business context.
Graciela is a founding member of the Spanish-speaking contact network SociaPB of Wassenaar and will act as chairperson of the interpreters' section of the SVVT (Stichting VrouwenNetwerk Vertalers en Tolken) until March 2002.
