Lina Bilkha and Ann Means
Lina and Ann joined forces in 2002 to work with clients across a range
of sectors and from a variety of cultures. Their projects have included:
Developing cross cultural awareness in offshoring operations,
multi-cultural team building, orientation programmes for sojourners,
development of cultural competencies. They particularly enjoy the
opportunities their work gives to offer two distinct cultural
perspectives.
Lina was born and brought up in India, and has a BA in German and
Psychology, and a Masters in German and Linguistics. She has lived in
the UK, and travelled extensively in the US, Europe and Australia. After
an early career lecturing in Post Graduate Studies at Bombay University,
she moved to the corporate sector, and has worked extensively with
groups and individuals, equipping them with skills to meet the
challenges and opportunities of operating in overseas business
environments. In addition to working with Ann on consultancy,
development and coaching rogrammes, Lina teaches Hindi, English and
German. She also speaks several Indian languages.
Before joining forces with Lina, Ann worked in a variety of roles:
Government service in her native UK, senior management in a consulting
firm, HR, training and development specialist working on developing core
management and interpersonal skills training for a large consultancy in
countries from the former Soviet Union and in Western Europe.
She graduated in German and Russian, and has lived and worked in France,
Germany, Russia, Hungary and India. She holds a Masters in
Organisational Behaviour, and is currently researching for a Doctorate
at Birkbeck College, London University. Her areas of interest are
multi-cultural teams and cultural diversity in organisations. In
addition to consultancy work, Ann lectures in Cross Cultural Psychology
and Cross Cultural Communication at St Xaviers College and the Xaviers
Institute of Management, Bombay.
